Yeah apparently it is now a crime to say something that may openly offend any religious jerk you come across in Ireland.
Quote
“It is silly because medieval religious laws have no place in a modern secular republic, where the criminal law should protect people and not ideas. And it is dangerous because it incentives religious outrage, and because Islamic states led by Pakistan are already using the wording of this Irish law to promote new blasphemy laws at UN level.”
He said blasphemy laws were “unjust”.
“They silence people in order to protect ideas. In a civilised society, people have a right to express and to hear ideas about religion even if other people find those ideas to be outrageous.”
So I suppose any travelers be warned with your chit chat about how anything concerning any religion you may see or hear! Dont discuss it or you're likely to get a hefty fine. Of course we have far better things to discuss in public than religion but damn them for taking away a freedom of speech just because someone's feelings are hurt when they are being told the obvious: religion is a tool.
Hide your forks everyone- spaghetti jezus is out for revenge and wanting people to drink their pasta so as not to hurt the noodles!!
